The Delux Wide-Body featuresĀ extra-wideĀ flange spacing (68 mm vs. 50 mm) and a steel axle forĀ a much stronger wheel.Ā This hub is strong enough for off-roadĀ racing and even tandems.
The internals are the same as all SON Delux generator hubs: lightweight and with ultra-low resistance. SONās unique pressure compensation system eliminates problems with water getting into the bearings as the large volume of the hub body warms and cools.
Pro Tip:Ā The barrels of some SON hubs are wrapped with blue tape. This protects the hub from getting scratched when the spokes are inserted. Remove the tapeĀ afterĀ youāve laced the wheel!
